Dear Regina,

How are you? I hope you’re fine. I’m writing this letter to tell you that I really miss you. Do you miss me too? It’s too bad that we couldn’t spend the last holiday together. I spent my holiday in Malang. I visited some places in the city, but among those places, Mount Bromo left the greatest impression on me.

Let me tell you how my tour in Mount Bromo went. I spent about 3 hours to get to Mount Bromo from Malang by public transportations. I arrived at the location in the afternoon. Since I wanted to watch the sunrise from the top of Penanjakan Hill which was one of the best sunrise spot in Mount Bromo, I decided to take a rest at a guest house and would go to the hill at the dawn. I woke up at 3 in the morning and as soon as I was ready, I rent a jeep to get to Penanjakan Hill. When arriving at the hill, many people were there. Long story short, I was finally at the top of the hill and witnessed the remarkable view of the golden sunrise. I spent around 1 hour there just enjoying the breathtaking view which the nature offered.

After that, I went to Savannah Hill also known as the Telletubbies Hill of Bromo by the same jeep. Again, the view was just so green and bizarre. It felt peaceful in there. Then, the jeep took me to the Whispering Sands. It may have been only the sea of sands, but the atmosphere there was so surreal. I felt like I was visiting the different planet. The next destination was the Bromo Crater itself. The jeep dropped me off at the jeep parking area around 1 to 2 km from the crater. I could either walk or ride a horse to get to the crater. I chose walking instead, because the crater was on the top of the mountain and I felt bad seeing the horses taking people on their back while climbing. It was actually an easy climbing. It only took less than 30 minutes to the top. On the top of the mountain, it was not the crater that stole my attention, but the scenery. Everyone and everything looked so tiny from there. I believe that if you’d been there, you’d have said something philosophical like, “human was only a speck of dust in the universe”

It was great experience, but it’d have been greater and more fun if you’d been there. That’s all I can tell you about my holiday. I’ll tell you the rest another time. Now that I’ve shared mine, why don’t you share yours?

Dear Ameera,

How are you, sweetie? I'm writing because I miss you so much and I want to tell you about my holiday in Banda Aceh. And I know that you miss me because I don't write to you after a long time. I'm so sorry. You know that I'm very busy during my school day.

You know I spent my holiday in Banda Aceh with my family. Let me tell you about it. I spent my holiday in banda Aceh for three days. I went to some tourism places in Banda Aceh. On the first day, I went to Grand Mosque Baiturrahman. It is the most beautiful mosque that I have ever seen. It has seven domes and twelve electric umbrellas looks so fascinating especially in the night. You know? I was very happy because I could pray there. Since I wanted to watch the sunset so I decided to go to Ule Lhee. After that I and my family decided to take a rest at a guest house and would go to the Lampuuk beach at the dawn because we wanted to watch the sunrise. We also had lunch there. After we had lunch, we decided to go the Pucok Krueng. Oh you know, I was very tired but very happy. In the evening we drank coffee at Ule Kareng. The next morning, we had jogging at Blang Padang and we had breakfast there, too. After that we decided to go to Pasar Aceh for shopping. There was many beautiful merchandise and I bought some for you. Insha Allah I would send it when I had went back to Kuala Simpang.

It was great experience, but it’d have been greater and more fun if you’d been there. That’s all I can tell you about my holiday. I’ll tell you the rest another time. Now that I’ve shared mine, why don’t you share yours?

Bagaimana kabarmu sayang? Aku menulis surat karena aku sangat merindukanmu dan aku ingin memberi tahu mu tentang liburan ku di Banda Aceh. Dan aku tahu bahwa kamu merindukan ku karena aku tidak menulis surat kepada mu setelah waktu yang lama. aku minta maaf. Kamu tahu kan bahwa aku sangat sibuk selama hari sekolah.

Kamu tahu aku menghabiskan liburan ku di Banda Aceh bersama keluarga ku. Izinkan aku memberi tahu mu tentang hal itu. Aku menghabiskan liburan  ku di banda Aceh selama tiga hari. Aku pergi ke beberapa tempat wisata di Banda Aceh. Pada hari pertama, Aku pergi ke Masjid Agung Baiturrahman. Ini adalah masjid terindah yang pernah ku lihat. Ini memiliki tujuh kubah dan dua belas payung listrik terlihat begitu menarik terutama di malam hari. Kamu tahu? Aku sangat senang karena aku bisa sholat di sana. Karena aku ingin melihat matahari terbenam, maka aku memutuskan untuk pergi ke Ule Lhee. Setelah itu aku dan keluarga ku memutuskan untuk beristirahat di wisma dan akan pergi ke pantai Lampuuk saat fajar karena kami ingin menyaksikan matahari terbit. Kami juga makan siang di sana. Setelah makan siang, kami memutuskan untuk pergi ke Pucok Krueng. Oh, kamu tahu, aku sangat lelah tetapi sangat bahagia. Di malam hari kami minum kopi di Ule Kareng. Pagi berikutnya, kami jogging di Blang Padang dan kami juga sarapan di sana. Setelah itu kami memutuskan untuk pergi ke Pasar Aceh untuk berbelanja. Ada banyak barang dagangan yang indah dan saya membeli beberapa untuk mu. Inshaa Allah aku akan mengirimkannya untuk mu ketika aku kembali ke Kuala Simpang.

Itu pengalaman yang luar biasa, tetapi lebih besar dan lebih menyenangkan jika kamu ada di sana. Hanya itu yang bisa aku ceritakan tentang liburan ku. Aku akan memberitahumu sisanya di lain waktu. Sekarang, setelah aku membagikan tentang ku, mengapa kamu tidak membagikan tentang mu?
